# Safari Zones
The Rajasthan Forest Department has divided Ranthambhore National Park into 10 distinct safari zones. While visitors often assume tiger sightings are limited to Zones 1 through 5, Zones 6 through 10 also offer excellent opportunities to spot big cats. Tigers are highly territorial animals that actively mark and defend their domain across every zone in the park.

Accessed through the "Singhdwar" gate, key locations in Zone 1 include Singhdwar, Tuti Ka Nala, Dhoop Chowk, Amreshwar Dang, Sultanpur Chowki, Gada Doob dam, Khariya, and Kala Peela Pani.
Routes around Singhdwar, Khariya, and Kala-Peela Pani are famous for regular tiger sightings, including Tigress T-39 (Noor), her cubs, and male tiger T-57.
Accessed via the Jogi Mahal Gate, Zone 2 features major landmarks such as Bada Darwaza, Jhalra, Naal Ghati (Kamal Dhaar), Phuta Bandha, Rishi Ka Deh, Phuta Kot, and Laahpur Tiraha.
Prime tiger sighting spots include Jogi Mahal, Phuta Kot, Phuta Bandha, and Nal Ghati. Tigress T-60 and her family frequently patrol this territory.
Highly popular among wildlife photographers, Zone 3 features scenic views of Rajbagh Lake, Malik Lake, and Padam Lake with the historic Ranthambhore Fort in the background.
Key landmarks include Padam Lake, Rajbagh Lake, Kadam Khandi, Doodh Baawri, and Mandook.
Zone 4 includes parts of Malik Lake and was historically home to the iconic tigress "Machali" (T-16). Other big cats active in this area include T-19 (Krishna), T-41 (Laila), and T-74.
Sharing the Singhdwar access gate, Zone 5 highlights include Gular Kui, Tamba Khan, Jokha, Pili Ghati, Kachida Valley, Dhakda, Bagdah Tiraha, Anatpura, and Bakhola.
Known as "Kundal," Zone 6 borders Zone 1. Key landmarks include Rajbagh Naka, Palli Darwaza, Kundal, Patwa Baori, Soleshwar ka Nala, and Kala Pani. Resident tigers include T-34 (Kumbha) and T-8 (Ladli).
Accessed via Rajbagh Naka, Zone 7 features rugged terrain and elevated views. Key points include Chidikho, Jamoda, and Kushalipura—the primary territory for T-61, T-8, and T-34.
Known as "Balas," Zone 8 is located in the Aravalli Hills. It is a scenic habitat well-suited for leopards and birdwatching. Major locations include Neemli Dang, Kali Bhat, Kherai, and Mahakho.
Located in the Phalodi Range along the Chakal River, Zone 9 is approximately 45 minutes from Ranthambhore Fort Road. It is home to Tigress T-59 and male tiger T-62.
Situated roughly 14 km from Ranthambhore Fort Road, Zone 10 features natural water bodies and diverse birdlife across Kushalipura, Bodal, Halonda, Banskhori, and Aantri.
